ADVOCATING ON BEHALF OF ISRAEL, THE JEWISH PEOPLE AND CANADIAN VALUES – 100 WAYS TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD

Through UJA you can make the biggest impact on the issues you care about most. Read about UJA's advocacy efforts.

More than 100 members of our community, representing more than 70 Jewish organizations in the Greater Toronto Area, attended CIJA’s GTA Assembly. Representatives from each organization had the opportunity to speak about the challenges they were facing, with government and media relations among them. CIJA strives to empower community leaders to deal effectively with local domestic issues affecting the Jewish Community, defend Israel, and advocate on behalf of Canadian Jewry.

As the advocacy agent of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and all other Jewish Federations in Canada, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) is a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of Jewish life in Canada by advancing the public policy interests of Canada’s organized Jewish community.

CIJA builds and strengthens relationships with leaders in government, media, academia, civil society, and other faith and ethnic communities to ensure greater understanding of the issues that impact the Jewish community. CIJA combats antisemitism and discrimination in all its forms and advocates for fundamental rights and freedoms, social justice, and support for the people of Israel.
